Physicians provide client centered primary care to individuals who face structural barriers accessing health services and who experience a wide range of acute and chronic health challenges. The physicians use a harm reduction approach while collaborating with clients living in poverty, with chronic mental health illness and/or substance use issues. The physician must have an understanding of the principles of culturally competent and trauma informed care.
There will be opportunities to work at the main health centre, clinics embedded in supportive housing sites and in the 2 mobile outreach vans. In 2025 we will be opening a 2nd health centre. The medical team has expertise in Hep C. HIV, and opioid agonist therapy. Physicians bill for data/statistic collection purposes which is a requirement of our funders. As a member of the team you will work in an environment that is committed to continuous learning and collaboration.
The health centre has 8 exam rooms which includes an embedded pharmacy, 2 mobile vans, 4 embedded clinic spaces in supportive housing sites. The team includes a Director, coordinators for both the health centre and
outreach services, 20 physicians, 17 registered nurses, 2 mental health outreach clinicians, health outreach worker, 4 counsellors, 5 MOAs and a pharmacy team.
Please send us a message using the Application form below and we will contact you within 1-2 business days.
