We’ve extended the time window to complete our confidential Practice Profile Survey. If you haven’t already, please take ~30 minutes to share your unique needs and experiences by Wednesday, July 15. Your feedback will help inform Victoria Division programs, services, and supports. Half-hour sessional remuneration is provided.

New Indigenous Cultural Safety training launched
A new free, self-paced online course is available to help family physicians and other clinicians strengthen Indigenous cultural safety in their practice. Offered through UBC Continuing Professional Development, the accredited course provides practical tools, guidance and resources to support culturally informed care. The module takes 3–4 hours to complete. Access it here
Island Health Community Medical Director appointment
Dr. Sienna Bourdon, a member of the South Island Division of Family Practice, is Island Health’s new Community Medical Director for Saanich – partially within and adjacent to our Victoria Division catchment area – , the Gulf Islands and the Western Communities.

The new FPSC Provincial Mentorship Program connects family physicians for personalized one-to-one mentorship in longitudinal family medicine, long-term care, inpatient care, and pregnancy & newborn care. Expand your scope of practice or share your expertise, while being compensated for your time. Learn more and apply as a mentor or mentee.
Consider joining the Board of Directors
The Victoria Division’s Nominations Committee is still welcoming candidates for the 2026 board director election until Monday, July 6. There are three openings in 2026. Three incumbent directors are seeking re-election, however, all candidates will be considered equally, regardless of their current positions. Read more
Nominate a colleague for a Doctors of BC award by July 8
Recognize a colleague’s outstanding contributions by nominating them for a Doctors of BC Silver Medal of Service or CMA Honorary Membership award. Nominations close Wednesday, July 8. Award criteria and the nomination form are available here.
