Electronic Health Records for physicians working in multiple locations

If you work in multiple locations, all Island Health results will by default go to whichever location you’ve deemed “primary” – even if the patient was seen somewhere else.

To get results to another location, put “CC [name of clinic]” on the requisition form. Results will then go to your primary location and the clinic you requested they CC.

You may wish to speak to your office staff about adding a “cc [name of clinic]” line as a default in forms. It is not sufficient to include the contact information of the clinic from which you ordered the tests in the header or on the fax cover sheet. Due to accreditation standards, labs and imaging will not release data unless you explicitly include “CC [name of clinic]” on the form.
