The MOA diploma program at Sprott Shaw College has 40 government-funded seats for Vancouver Island students. Programs start soon in August. Consider encouraging someone to train in order to replace a retiring MOA.
The program includes nine months of theory as well as practical skill-building through a four-week practicum.
The goal is to increase MOA capacity in both family practices and at Island Health clinics. Students can choose to complete their practicum at a clinic of their choice based on an existing connection, or be placed through Sprott Shaw College. After finishing the diploma program, grads are welcome to apply wherever they are interested to work.
South Island dates
Theory: August 14, 2023 – April 19, 2024
Practicum: April 22, 2024 – May 17, 2024 (80 hours)
