Do you regularly and actively admit and/or treat patients who are receiving involuntary psychiatric treatment under the Mental Health Act? If so, Island Health requires you to complete a new, accredited online module by January 31st to obtain new MHA medical certificate.
The course can be found on the PHSA Learning Hub (Mental Health Act – Island Health online (Course # 11716)) . If you are unfamiliar with the Learning Hub, this page shows you how to set up a Learning Hub account. Setting up an account is very easy and doesn’t take a lot of time.
Island Health will also be scheduling engagement sessions to support completion of the new MHA medical certificates before they are implemented provincially by January 31, 2024.
