Did you complete your medical training outside of Canada (i.e., you are an ‘IMG’)? A remunerated, collaborative survey by Vancouver Island’s Divisions of Family Practice aims to increase division knowledge of your needs to improve services for IMGs as well as recruitment.
Divisions aim to support local physician communities and improve local healthcare systems. However, our knowledge about the International Medical Graduate cohort of our membership and how we can best support you is limited. We also want to know more about who comes to Vancouver Island and why, so that our physician recruitment and retention programs can be more targeted and more successful.
We acknowledge that high-level process change work is underway to address Return of Service program challenges. This survey is intended to augment that work and support the development of a concierge service for physicians, specifically those internationally trained, once they arrive in our communities. The survey will provide the scaffolding for this concierge-type support.
You will be remunerated for 15 minutes at the JCC sessional rate for completing this 15-minute survey and you may enter to win one of two $100 DoorDash gift cards. Responses are anonymous. The survey closes on January 31.
