Job Specifics

Dr. Lisa Veres at Yates Street General Practice is looking for a family physician locum to join our bright, newly renovated clinic for 6–8 weeks between January 12 and March 6, 2026 (dates are flexible). This is a wonderful chance to step into a warm, supportive environment where you’ll care for a diverse panel of patients spanning multiple generations. You’ll be working alongside a terrific colleague and skilled staff who are experienced with locums and committed to making your time with us smooth and enjoyable. Our clinic is modern, welcoming, and conveniently located with pharmacy, Lifelabs, and Westcoast Imaging right in the building.

We offer flexibility in scheduling, with a balance of in-office and work-from-home options, and a collegial team that will support you in tailoring your workload to your preferences. With an average of 15–20 patients per day, well-organized charts, and strong PCN supports (mental health, social work, pharmacy), you’ll find this a manageable and rewarding experience.

Position Highlights:

  • Flexible 6–8 week locum term (Jan 12–Mar 6, 2026)

  • Hours: ~32–40 per week (7 half days in-office, option to work from home)

  • Average daily patient volume: 15–20

  • EMR: OSCAR, portable and remote-accessible

  • Compensation: LFP model – 80% in-office/private billings, 100% hospital/out-of-office

  • Secure underground parking provided (cost covered if needed)

  • Optional use of Dr. Veres’ 3-bedroom apartment in James Bay for a nominal fee

Practice Environment:
You’ll be part of a friendly, collegial group practice with two family physicians, a resident, and two full-time staff who are skilled at supporting locums. The clinic offers bright, south-facing offices with sit-stand desks, 5 exam rooms – 2 are joint office/exam rooms, and space for procedures with an autoclave on-site. Patients are lovely and long-standing, and you’ll have the option to care for two LTC patients if desired.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC

  • Interest in full-service family practice

  • Comfort with OSCAR EMR (training available)

  • Ability to do skin biopsies would be a bonus
