Recent results from the Mayo Clinic’s Physician Well-Being Index offer some encouraging news: among VDFP and SIDFP members who completed the Index more than once, the proportion experiencing distress decreased across three check-ins between February 2025 and September 2026 – from 30% to 19%. At the same time, the proportion reporting that they were thriving increased.
The results don’t tell us what caused this improvement, but these local results and Mayo clinic’s own research demonstrate the value of checking in over time.
