Following the computerized provider order entry (CPOE) go-live at Royal Jubilee Hospital (RJH) in June, Victoria General Hospital (VGH), Gorge Road Health Centre (GRH) sub-acute unit and South Island Surgical Centre (SISC) will go live on September 14. CPOE enables healthcare providers at these sites to send treatment instructions directly via the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Thank you for your support for RJH during their recent CPOE transition in June. Overall, the launch went well, and family physicians played a part in that success.

For the upcoming launches, Island Health will be leveraging many of the resources that were in place for RJH, including an ED overflow clinic, working closely with community health, and recruiting peer resources from other sites.
